Why the Directory Exists
Printed directories once carried many of the clues now scattered among offices. In Spring Valley, ownership is documented by the Town of Ramapo assessor and Rockland County Clerk, while registration records follow New York election law and older address clues are held at the New City Library Rockland Room and county archives. The village also sits inside Ramapo, so a record’s mailing city does not always identify its custodian. We organize the search routes, contacts, coverage notes, and access limits in one practical reference.
What You Will Find Here
- Pages by angle: the street directory for address-keyed records, the directory book for historical collections, and the resident lookup for one-person verification
- Records and custodians: the assessor, county clerk, elections office, courts, vital-record custodians, and local-history collections
- Research paths: address-to-parcel searches, directory entries, and household trails across different time periods
- Access limits: New York FOIL routes for eligible records, special restrictions, and offline alternatives when a portal is incomplete
What We Cannot Provide
This is a privately operated reference, not a Spring Valley, Rockland County, New York, court, or library office. Important limits include:
- We cannot confirm whether a specific person currently lives in Spring Valley
- We cannot pull, certify, or change any record on your behalf
- We cannot add anyone to, or remove anyone from, any roll or database
- We cannot give legal advice about a record or a dispute
- We cannot promise that every coverage year, link, or office detail here is current at this moment
Only the custodian office can confirm, certify, or correct a record. Nothing found through this site may be used for credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions.
